Giving Something Back
We’re justifiably proud of our success at Kennedy Funding. We also realize we’re fortunate to be as successful as we are. And we believe in being thankful for what we have done, and in repaying our community and our species for our good fortune. read more

Current Causes

Kennedy Funding is heavily involved with charitable and philanthropic endeavors.  In these particularly trying times, we are spearheading a “caravan of help” to the Katrina-devastated parts of the state of Mississippi.  Despite the pressures of our high profile, high-intensity work, we nevertheless find time for social activism, expressed as charitable efforts in several key areas. The horrific aftermath of Hurricane Katrina was the impulse behind this particular endeavor. We contacted the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency and discovered that they are accepting specific shipments of aid at a Multi Agency Staging Center in Jackson, Mississippi.  So we raised over $100,000 to pay for two 18-wheelers to drive to Jackson with essential supplies.

We are also heavily involved with Hoop-A-Paluza, Inc., a 501(c) nonprofit organization. As an active member of the Advisory Board, we have participated in the organization’s annual fundraiser for the last three years, and will be part of the fourth such event this coming November. In the past, this event has raised over $250,000 for the pediatric burn unit of St Barnabas Hospital in Livingston, NJ, and this year will benefit the Alpine Learning Group’s Early Detection and Treatment Program for children with autism. A portion of the proceeds will also go to the Tourette’s Syndrome Association of New Jersey.

An interest in the well-being of children has also manifested itself in our annual contributions to The Nurturing Place at the York Street Project in Jersey City, New Jersey. This institution is a nationally accredited early childhood development center for homeless and economically disadvantaged children from 4 months to 9 years of age. Often forgotten, the children at The Nurturing Place can now look forward to an annual birthday present.

Our latest philanthropic endeavor is our involvement with The Kennedy Funding Invitational annual tennis tournament at Dellwood Country Club, New City, New York.  The weeklong tournament features players from around the world, all ranked in the Top 100.  Admission is free to the public, and all proceeds are used to benefit the Breast Care Center at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center in Englewood, NJ.  The tournament was inspired by Leslie Simon, a dear friend of the Wolfer family and of the entire community, who lost her battle with breast cancer earlier this year.  Englewood Hospital’s care and support during Leslie’s ordeal was an inspiration to everyone, as was Leslie’s indomitable spirit during her difficult transition.  To date, The Kennedy Funding Invitational has raised over $400,000.

Those are some of our current, active causes at Kennedy Funding.  New ones will inevitably surface, and we’ll be ready to lend a hand.  Because at Kennedy, we all feel it’s the least we can do.
